The route south from Ferris
Take E 8th Street (FM 660) to I-45 South toward Ennis for about 13 miles, exit at 251B for TX 34, then follow Ennis Avenue, Clay Street, and Lampasas Street to 1700 Cedar Run Road. Check your map app for live times.

A railroad and brick-making town
The Handbook of Texas traces Ferris to 1874, when the Houston and Texas Central Railway came through on land donated by the McKnight family. The town was named for Judge Justus W. Ferris of Waxahachie, and by 1914 it had six brick plants, part of its brick-making history. Most of Ferris is served by Ferris ISD.
